L'Hotel de Hercé Mission Statement is to accommodate
the diverse personal needs of travellers. We have coordinated stays and touring for
older travellers, disabilities; including restricted sight, hearing, movement limitations,
and those managing health issues such as diabetes.

The minimum mobility requirements to stay and tour from L'Hotel de Hercé are
Ability to get in and out of a car
Walk short distances to house, restaurant or similar.
Manage easy staircase to access guest rooms on the first floor.
Guest bedrooms are on the first floor, with all level access. Guest Rooms are carpeted, hallway has timber floors with long rugs
The Giverny Room is located directly adjacent to the top of the stairs, the other 2 guest rooms are located down a corridor that runs direct from the first-floor landing.

The entrance to L'Hotel de Hercé is via a slight slope stone paved carriage way. Then across a gravel open courtyard to entrance. Entry is up 4 wide stone stairs. The ground floor is level, with stone floor foyer, & timber floor hallway, dining room & salon, wide corridors & doorways.
Ground Floor has guest toilet & basin.
Ensuite access is via regular sized doors ways
Ensuite showers are in shower cabinets with doors, access has one low step into shower.
Toilets have level access.
If your walking is restricted we can plan Regional Guided Touring by car. With little or no site visit walking. Can you get in and out of a car with assistance? Wonderful, we will plan your tour by car to take in many sights, see the countryside, view Chateaux and the Loire Valley or DDay Beach all from the comfort of a car. Access to the level garden is from the gravel courtyard, up a slightly sloping path
The path to the garden is impacted earth and gravel and not slippery. This leads to the summer house, outdoor table & chairs for guests. The garden is private & enclosed.
Walk into town centre is 450 meters downhill, on a narrow road with some cobbles.

The access in the town centre is level access to cafes, restaurants, shopping, services and cinema, Saturday market.
We have identified access issues common to historic sites across France Walking distances, stone surfaces, stairs, and finding toilets. Every year more museums are now providing lifts and ramp access. On advice from you, we will plan your Guided Tours so you relax and enjoy yourself knowing your needs are not an issue. We endeavour to provide the best information on the best options available.
Historic timber large curving staircase, moderate incline, shallow risers & deep treads, this a gentle stair case. There is a strong handrail 25 steps to the first floor landing & guest rooms.
Transfers & Touring
We prove a warm welcome with our private Transfers from Laval Train station. Travel in our private car. A larger car can booked on request. We regret are unable to provide access for or accommodate Wheelchairs at this time.
Playing Wargames in our 18thc Salon de Guerre, also has flexibility for the comfort and needs of guests.
